Come and learn the art of creating Japanese Kokeshi Dolls. Kokeshi are wooden
dolls, made with simple facial features and elaborate kimonos. Originating in the
early 19th century, they are now a collector's item.
One doesn't have to be an artist to create these little works of art, as you can choose
to either paint on the kimono, or use printed washi paper. All materials will be
provided for this class, and at the end, you will go home with your own, unique,
kokeshi doll.
Materials fee: $10
Members: $30/Guests: $40

and special occasions, while in the western world, kanzashi have now become a
more mainstream accessory. All materials will be provided, and at the end of this
class you will go home with one beautiful ume or plum blossom kanzashi flower
with a freshwater pearl centre, to wear as either a hair pin, or brooch.
